TECHNICAL INFORMATION - CREATING YOUR ‘DIGITALORIGINAL’
THE STRETCHER FRAME
The printed canvas is stretched and stapled to a wood frame, The wood is kiln dried allowing the hot air to dry it at a controlled temperature and humidity. This creates a precise moisture content to the wood preventing any distortion or warping, creating a tight drum-like finish to the canvas.
THE CANVAS
Top quality canvas, printed with genuine light-fast stable inks, the print is stretched and stapled to the wooden frame, producing a strong, tight finish.
The corners are folded inside creating a protective edge rather than cut to a loose point.
THE EDITION
Each canvas is individually handmade to order. Every print is a unique reproduction of the original digital artwork. The final print is signed and numbed, a unique DIGITALORIGINAL created just for you...
THE CERTIFICATION
The last thing I fit on the back of the canvas is the ‘Certificate of Authenticity’ this is stappled to the wooden frame. This certifies it’s unique canvas number and the print edition.
THE WALL HANGER
The final canvas is fitted with a brass hanger, this allows easy adjustment, creating a flush fit to the wall and for larger pictures we fit a plate at each end, This solves the issue of picture slippage, we also fit small cork pads at the base of the canvas, again this helps to prevent that old slippage issue!
HOW I CREATE MY IMAGES
I use Apple products, a ‘maxed’ out Mac and the usual gang of software… I create ‘vectors’ in Adobe illustrator, ‘paint’ in Photoshop and ‘model, render and animate’ in Lightwave3D. Final files are output through Indesign and finally output as high resolution PDF’s… All the work is at least 8K and getting BIGGER! Simple really.
